No Austerity for the Bombing Coalitions

“The Conservatives ran into problems in 2012 over the price of the Libyan war. In October 2011, then-defence minister Peter MacKay told CBC the Libyan mission had cost Canadian taxpayers $50 million, about $10 million less than DND had predicted. But seven months later, DND released documents saying the full cost of the mission was nearly $350 million.” David Pugliese, Ottawa Citizen, October 4, 2014.

It would appear that there is no austerity for “war” bombers when millions of dollars can be spent to bomb and bomb and bomb. Libya [1] was a great bombing “success” in the twisted dreams of some. And there was even a “fly past” to celebrate. Now chaos reigns in that unfortunate country after the NATO coalition helped out Al Qaeda. [1a] Now it’s on to bomb Iraq and perhaps Syria too and the word “austerity” is not even mentioned. But hey, that’s why there are taxpayers,’ austerity is only for them and their families. Meanwhile, the taxpayers will pay and pay and pay, while the “political warriors” [1b] and “leaders” lead the charge from the safety of their luxury bunkers for their latest “new war” that had its beginnings in Iraq some years ago.  “Weapons of Mass Destruction” was used as the pretext for that invasion, which of course turned out to be a big lie and those who caused it are hailed as “statesmen.”  Others have called them war criminals who have created thousands of victims, many dead, others dying, or maimed in their fiendish bloody wake. [2]

But what is even worse in this no austerity coalition bombing mission is that some of our “allies” have been reportedly funding the terrorist enemy. [2a] Could this be called  “Allies bombing Allies”? [2b] Some allies also supported these treacherous “allies,” so  are some of our “allies” questionable? [3] And if some of our leaders know these so-called “allies” have funded terrorists, should some of our political leaders be charged as accessories after the fact and put on trial?[3a] Or are some of these “allies” now so  terrified of the monster[3b] that they created, they are now trying to kill it?

Still, trying to kill this monster will cause, and has caused, death, destruction and misery to lots of innocent men, women and children who are on the ground below the bombings from the sky. Of course the innocent, if slaughtered by a “good” missile, will be called “collateral damage” and perhaps “unfortunate victims” as the great air squadron bombs and bombs and bombs in this no austerity coalition. And of course the suppliers, manufacturers and profiteers of all this mayhem will surely rejoice in their bloody profits and share holdings.
“Share prices are soaring in America for those who produce the coalition bombs and missiles and drones and aircraft participating in this latest war which – for all who are involved (except for the recipients of the bombs and missiles and those they are fighting) – is Hollywood from start to finish.

“Shares in Lockheed Martin – maker of the ‘All for One and One for All’ Hellfire missiles – are up 9.3 per cent in the past three months. Raytheon – which has a big Israeli arm – has gone up 3.8 per cent. Northrop Grumman shares swooped up the same 3.8 per cent. And General Dynamics shares have risen 4.3 per cent. Lockheed Martin – which really does steal Alexandre Dumas’ Three Musketeers quotation on its publicity material – makes the rockets carried by the Reaper drones, famous for destroying wedding parties over Afghanistan and Pakistan, and by Iraqi aircraft....” (source: Robert Fisk The Independent, U.K. October 19, 2014: http://www.independent.co.uk/voices/comment/with-usled-strikes-on-isis-intensifying-its-a-good-time-to-be-a-shareholder-in-the-merchants-of-death-9804918.html)

As can be seen by the evidence above, there is no austerity in the war business. [4] Money can always be found in massive amounts for missiles, bombs, guns, tanks ammunition, and all the other weapons of death and destruction. And those who profit, cause, finance and plan all this evil are allowed to run free and cause more mayhem. There is no austerity for them as they feed off the taxes of the people who are prisoners of their taxation policies. One wonders will the people ever say enough? Or will these scumbags of the earth [4] continue to rule and avoid any punishment for their crimes?

“While, undeniably, the Islamic State has shown itself beyond the pale with its beheading of innocents and its massacres of soldiers who have surrendered, let us not forget that our allies abetted these monsters,...” -Patrick Buchanan

“Islamic State (Isil), with its newly conquered territory, oilfields and bank vaults, no longer needs much foreign money. But its extraordinarily swift rise to this point, a place where it threatens the entire region and the West, was substantially paid for by the allies of the West. Isil’s cash was raised in, or channelled through, Kuwait and Qatar, with the tacit approval and sometimes active support of their governments.” -Andrew Gilligan, Telegraph U.K. September 6, 2014.
